Probably. Nothing that’s great is the same as something else. It’s the differences that make up the world.

That’s why people love snow so much. No two snowflakes are alike. Unfortunately I’ve never seen snow. Think I’ll see it around here?

It’s dry around here.

Freedom can come to you at any age if you’ll let it.

I’m twenty-two. I’d just rather do hair and live with my brother than run off by myself.
That’s pretty deep, man.

Is your brother new too?

ankur-modi:
That’s a good attitude to have.

Unfortunately, not everybody’s got the same kind of view. It makes too much sense.
Yeah, I get what you mean. People don’t really want to see out of this little box that they created for themselves. I think they’re just scared of things and people that are different.

Ankur Modi-Kharral.

Both of my parents are from India, if you can’t tell by the ridiculous name. I just moved out here to share an apartment with my best friend.
Really? I know that my mom is Spanish, and I’m pretty sure that my Dad’s indian… Oh well. I don’t think things like that are a really big deal, you know? Like, we all look the same on the inside.

It’s dry around here.
anja-beals:
I’m Anja Beals.

You look pretty young, Nate. Are you still in school?
Yeah, but only for another year. Then I’m free.

It’s dry around here.
anja-beals:
My brother and I just moved from Oregon recently. We were born in California, though.

My other brother lived there until he moved here.
Wow, really? Small world. Seems like a lot of people move here. I’m Nate Parker, by the way. My mom owns the flower shop around here.

ankur-modi:

I’m dark all year round. Are you half of something?

You got it. Well, kind of. I’m a mixture of different things that I don’t even know about, even though I know both of my parents. But I never thought about it before. Oh, I’m Nate Parker.
It’s dry around here.
anja-beals:
It hasn’t rained once since I got here.

Pity.

I just got here last night and I can tell that it’s different. I’m from California so I’m used to sunshine and waves.

ankur-modi:
Quite. You’re also just white enough for people to want to take photos of you.

Nah, it’s mostly the lighting. And the time of year. I’m darker during the summer.
